Lebanese sources report Israeli artillery fire targeting the Ali al-Taher ridge in southern Lebanon. The reports come amid an unusual public directive from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Israel should not attack Lebanon. No casualty figures are available
Lebanese sources are reporting artillery fire targeting the Ali al-Taher ridge in southern Lebanon as of Saturday evening. The reports follow a public directive attributed to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Israel should refrain from attacking Lebanon — an unusual on-record stance that precedes the reported shelling.
As The Zioneer reported earlier Saturday (16:52 Jerusalem), strikes were already reported at the Ali al-Taher ridge, though the type of attack was not specified. Friday evening saw Israeli artillery directed at the same ridge as well as Jabal Rafie, also reported by Lebanese sources.
It remains unclear whether the current fire represents a continuation of earlier artillery operations or a new response to a specific trigger. There has been no comment from the IDF. The ridge is a known Hezbollah observation and firing position overlooking the Israeli border.
