TL;DR

According to the Abu Ali Express channel, at least 12 Lebanese have been killed in dozens of IDF strikes across southern Lebanon and the Beqaa Valley since midnight. The strikes targeted multiple villages, predominantly in the Nabatieh district, but also in the Tyre area, Jezzine, and the Beqaa. A house strike in Bariish killed 4; a drone strike on a vehicle in Deir al-Zahrani killed 4 more. The IDF said the strikes follow Hezbollah ceasefire violations. Details remain from a single source.

01 · THE DISPATCH

The death toll from the overnight wave of IDF strikes across southern Lebanon and the Beqaa Valley has risen to at least 12, according to a Saturday morning report from the Abu Ali Express channel. The dispatch follows an earlier version of this story — published at Sat 09:42 Jerusalem — which reported five killed, based on Lebanese sources. The updated figure includes four killed in a house strike in Bariish (Tyre district) and four more in a drone strike on a vehicle in Deir al-Zahrani, alongside additional casualties in al-Doueir and other villages. The IDF has stated the strikes are a response to Hezbollah ceasefire violations.

The story developed rapidly Saturday morning. At 09:42 Jerusalem, we reported in a first bulletin that the Israeli Air Force had launched dozens of strikes starting after midnight, with Lebanese sources reporting casualties. A simultaneous second bulletin — also published at Sat 09:42 Jerusalem — raised the death toll to five. By the same timestamp, a third bulletin reported rescue teams searching for survivors under rubble. The current update, relying on a single source (Abu Ali Express citing Lebanese media), now puts the toll at 12 killed across more than 20 targeted villages, predominantly in the Nabatieh district but also in the Tyre area, Jezzine, and the Beqaa.

This wave of strikes is the largest single-day operation south Lebanon has seen in recent weeks. The IDF's stated rationale — retaliation for Hezbollah ceasefire violations — mirrors language used in earlier operations: as The Zioneer reported on Sunday June 14, the IDF struck 10 towns in the Nabatieh district; on Tuesday June 16, four were killed in strikes near Nabatieh; and on Friday June 19, casualties were reported in five southern towns. The current strike wave far exceeds those in geographic scope and reported intensity.

The casualty figures remain preliminary and are sourced only from Lebanese media via one channel. No independent confirmation of the specific numbers, locations, or identities of those killed has been published. The IDF has not commented on individual strike results. What remains unclear is whether the strikes mark a new phase of operations or a temporary escalation, and whether further strikes are planned.
