Undercover Border Police officers from the Southern District arrested two suspects in Bir Hadaj for defacing the memorial of fallen IDF soldier Sgt. Yehuda Peretz in the Negev community of Rethmim, according to police. The arrests were confirmed Tuesday evening.
The arrest was first reported by The Zioneer earlier Tuesday. Border Police confirmed the operation, which took place yesterday, in a statement Tuesday evening. The suspects were apprehended simultaneously in two locations in the Bedouin town of Bir Hadaj. The memorial, located in the Negev community of Rethmim, has been defaced multiple times; the latest incident was reported earlier this week.
