Earlier Tuesday at 15:50 Jerusalem, The Zioneer reported that Blot and the Jerusalem District Attorney's Office filed an appeal to the Jerusalem District Court to maintain the administrative order against Dardik, and that Blot personally submitted an appeal warning that Dardik poses a 'high and immediate' danger. The appeals directly contradict the defense minister's directive to release Dardik, following a military court ruling that the administrative order was illegal.
The dispute has been building over the past weeks. As The Zioneer reported on Monday, July 13, coalition MKs accused Blot of circumventing Defense Minister Katz's directive to halt administrative detention against Jewish residents. The Zioneer also reported on July 10 that administrative arrest warrants were issued on the doors of neighbors of Maj. Gen. Blot, following Dardik's arrest. Dardik, who has been in administrative detention, has been on a hunger strike since early July, reportedly on day 17 as of July 22.
It remains unclear how the Jerusalem District Court will rule on the appeal, and whether Defense Minister Katz will take further steps to assert his authority over the Central Command.
