Civil Administration forces extracted a female soldier from Jericho overnight Friday after she entered the Palestinian city with an Arab Israeli friend for a birthday party, according to the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories. Hours later, two Israeli women who were speaking Hebrew in a Jericho villa neighborhood were also rescued and transferred to security forces.
The two overnight incidents in Jericho add to a growing pattern of Israelis entering Palestinian Authority (Area A) cities without coordination, each time requiring a Civil Administration extraction.
As The Zioneer reported at 11:32, the first rescue involved an active-duty female soldier who entered Jericho with an Arab Israeli companion for a birthday party. Military coordination officers provided immediate protection and transferred her to security forces; she was subsequently handed to the Military Police Investigative Unit.
In the second incident, two Israeli women were spotted speaking Hebrew in Jericho's villa neighborhood, telling the rescue force they had entered the city to meet friends from a Sinai Desert trip. Both were extracted and transferred to the Judea and Samaria District Police.
These rescues follow several similar extractions in recent weeks — including three women rescued from Beit Jala on June 5 and a man from Qalqilya on June 10, according to previous The Zioneer reporting. The incidents underscore the continued risk of entering Area A without prior security coordination.
