The Zioneer has detected five new Iskander-K missile variants flying over Chernihiv Oblast toward Kyiv as of 04:57 Jerusalem time, adding to an ongoing Russian aerial assault on the Ukrainian capital.
The detection follows a bulletin at 04:43 Jerusalem reporting additional impacts in Kyiv and an Iskander short-range ballistic missile en route to the city. The earlier bulletin noted that casualty figures and interception details were not yet available.
Russia has escalated its long-range strike campaign against Kyiv in recent weeks, employing a mix of ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as drones. The Iskander-K is a ground-launched cruise missile variant of the Iskander system, capable of precision strikes at ranges of up to 500 km.
