Footage from the city of Asaluyeh, allegedly showing damage at a petrochemical plant there, has been posted on Telegram. The video's source and authenticity have not been independently verified.
New footage circulating on Telegram claims to show damage at the petrochemical plant in Asaluyeh, a major energy hub in Iran's Bushehr province. The video, posted by a channel tracking Arabic-world news, arrives hours after the sixth version of this story — at 21:40 UTC — in which The Zioneer reported a US Air Force bombing at the same South Pars gas complex. The six versions published between 21:40 and 21:41 UTC record an escalating sequence: initial explosions (version 1–2), reported strikes at the South Pars complex (version 3), a second strike in 48 hours (version 4), an exchange of fire at sea between Iranian forces and the US Navy (version 5), and finally the US bombing report (version 6).
The thread began with unverified social-media reports of explosions near the South Pars gas field (version 1, 21:40 UTC). Within minutes, those reports were refined: the explosions were identified at a petrochemical plant within the complex (version 2). An Arabic-language Telegram outlet then reported a bombing at the plant (version 3). Iran's Tasnim news agency corroborated an aerial strike (version 4), reporting it as the second attack on the facility in 48 hours, following an IDF strike on June 8 (as The Zioneer reported on that date, Israel struck a critical pump at Iran's largest petrochemical complex in Mahshahr). By version 5, Tasnim reported another air strike while Iranian agency Mehr reported an exchange of fire at sea with US forces. Version 6 specified the bombing as a US Air Force action — a claim that remains unverified.
The Zioneer has previously reported (June 8) on IDF strikes on Iranian petrochemical infrastructure, including the Mahshahr complex, and on an IRGC claim of a retaliatory missile strike on a Haifa facility. The wider context includes an ongoing multi-day exchange of strikes that the IDF has said it is bracing for (as The Zioneer reported on June 7). The footage's timing comes as that exchange has reportedly extended to the Asaluyeh complex.
The authenticity of the Asaluyeh footage and the extent of any damage remain unverified. No independent reports of a fresh strike at the site — separate from the bombing reported at 21:40 UTC — have emerged. It is unclear whether the video depicts recent after-effects or older material, nor have any claims of attribution been independently confirmed.
