TL;DR

Hezbollah published footage it says shows an Ababil fiber-optic FPV drone striking an IDF Merkava IV (Barak) tank near Beaufort Castle in southern Lebanon on June 12. The claim, aired by the group's media arm, is unverified and has not been corroborated or commented on by the IDF.

01 · THE DISPATCH

Hezbollah's media arm released footage on Tuesday evening that, according to the organization, shows an Ababil fiber-optic FPV drone striking an IDF Merkava IV (Barak) tank near Beaufort Castle in southern Lebanon. The claim states the incident occurred on June 12.

This is the latest in a series of similar propaganda videos published by Hezbollah in recent weeks. As The Zioneer reported on June 12, the group previously released footage claiming a fiber-optic drone strike on an IDF Merkava II tank on June 6. Earlier on Tuesday, Hezbollah published a video asserting an attack on an IDF Achzarit armored personnel carrier in the Khiam area on June 13. The IDF has not confirmed any of these claims, and the footage has not been independently verified.

The use of fiber-optic FPV drones represents a relatively new and difficult-to-intercept capability. The footage remains unverified; no IDF comment or evidence of damage or casualties has emerged.
