01 · THE DISPATCH

IDF troops continued dismantling Hezbollah weapons caches in the southern Lebanon security zone Thursday, with the 401st Armored Brigade uncovering an underground shaft and rocket cache in At-Tiri and the 679th (Yiftach) Brigade locating explosives and firearms in Maroun al-Ras, the military said. The IDF Spokesperson released a photo of the At-Tiri cache and stated that all seized ordnance was intended for Hezbollah attacks on Israeli forces.

The Zioneer first reported the discoveries at 15:11 Jerusalem time, initially focusing on the 401st Brigade's find. In subsequent updates published at the same time, the military identified the 679th Brigade's involvement and released the photo. The weapons have been described as including rockets, mortar shells, explosives, and small arms.

The finds are part of the 91st Division's ongoing operations to clear the border area of Hezbollah infrastructure. As The Zioneer has reported, such operations have uncovered large caches in recent weeks, including a drone factory hidden inside a mountain (June 21) and a weapons store next to a baby crib (June 9). The IDF has said over 35 Hezbollah operatives were eliminated in the area in a single week earlier this month.

No further details on the scope of the current discoveries have been provided. The military has not specified whether the caches were linked to recent Hezbollah activity.
