IDF captures Hezbollah UAV storage tunnel with ~50 kamikaze drones, says IRGC built it

TL;DR

The IDF located a 29-meter-deep tunnel under a mountain in southern Lebanon containing approximately 50 'ABABIL-T' kamikaze drones, along with other weaponry including EFPs. The military said the IRGC bore direct responsibility for constructing the tunnel within the last decade.

01 · THE DISPATCH

The IDF announced on Monday that troops discovered and seized a major underground Hezbollah drone depot in southern Lebanon. The tunnel, bored 29 meters deep under a mountain, contained around 50 Iranian-made 'ABABIL-T' one-way attack drones, as well as explosively formed penetrators (EFPs) and other ordnance.

The military stated that Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) directly oversaw the construction of the facility within the last ten years. This disclosure adds a specific accusation of Iranian responsibility for Hezbollah's underground arsenal.

The find follows a series of recent IDF operations exposing Hezbollah's subterranean infrastructure near the border. As The Zioneer reported earlier on Monday, the IDF demolished a 200-meter Hezbollah drone tunnel in Majdal Zoun and struck command centers. The newly revealed tunnel appears distinct from that facility — located under a different mountainous area, and attributed directly to IRGC construction.

Earlier in June, the IDF uncovered a Hezbollah 'drone airport' under Majdal Zoun containing 50 Iranian-made UAVs, and later revealed a larger complex with hundreds of drones and missiles beneath the same village. The 25–29 meter depth range has been a consistent feature of Hezbollah's military tunnels in the region.

What remains unconfirmed: whether any of the ~50 drones were retrieved or destroyed on site; the exact location of the tunnel beyond 'under a mountain in southern Lebanon'; and whether any Hezbollah personnel were captured or killed during the operation.
