Israeli forces are carrying out building demolitions in the Shiite village of Al-Mansouri in southern Lebanon, according to security analyst Yair Goldblatt, who reports the village is being erased. The operations follow Goldblatt's assessment earlier Tuesday evening that the village, along with Hadatha and Tebnit, could be leveled. The IDF has not commented.
Security analyst Yair Goldblatt reported early Wednesday morning that the IDF is conducting building demolitions in the Shiite village of Al-Mansouri in southern Lebanon, describing the village as "being erased" as controlled explosions continued.
The report follows a series of updates from Goldblatt on Tuesday evening. At 18:45 Jerusalem, Goldblatt initially confirmed controlled explosions in Al-Mansouri. He later released additional footage of the demolitions, and by Tuesday night assessed that Al-Mansouri, along with the villages of Hadatha and Tebnit, could be completely destroyed as part of the IDF campaign to dismantle Hezbollah infrastructure near the border.
The operations in Al-Mansouri are part of a broader pattern of IDF activity in southern Lebanon. Since late July, the IDF has carried out systematic demolitions in several Shiite villages in the region, including Al-Tiri (reported Jul 23), Markaba (Jul 26), Tebnit and Majdal Zoun (Jul 27), without issuing official statements. The demolitions are aimed at preventing Hezbollah from using built-up areas as forward operating bases close to the Israeli border.
The IDF has not officially commented on the current operation. The number of structures targeted and any casualties remain unreported. Goldblatt's reports are based on sources in the security field and have been consistent with the broader pattern of IDF activity in the sector.
