The operative also participated in ceremonies during hostage release deals and had recently attempted to advance attacks against Israeli forces.

The elimination follows a series of IDF operations targeting Hamas operatives involved in the October 7 attack and subsequent hostage holding. The three hostages were taken captive on October 7, 2023, and later died in Israeli captivity in Gaza. The identity of the eliminated operative, including his full name and rank, remains under a publication ban at this stage.
