The IDF says it eliminated three armed Hezbollah operatives in Beit Yahoun, in the security zone of southern Lebanon. The statement follows the release of video footage of the operation earlier this evening.
The IDF confirmed Wednesday evening (21:35 Jerusalem) that it eliminated three armed Hezbollah operatives in the village of Beit Yahoun in the southern Lebanon security zone. The confirmation came minutes after the IDF Spokesperson released video footage of the operation, as The Zioneer reported at 21:22 Jerusalem. The military said the operatives were carrying combat equipment and were struck by forces from Brigade 401 after being spotted by the 869th Intelligence Battalion.
The incident was first reported at 19:18 Jerusalem, when the Israeli Air Force carried out a strike on Beit Yahoun. Over the following minutes, the IDF provided incremental updates: confirming the neutralization of three operatives, identifying the units involved, and emphasizing that the strike removed a threat to Israeli forces. At 21:22 Jerusalem, the IDF released video footage documenting the operation, circulated by N12 correspondent Nitzan Shapira.
The elimination is part of a series of IDF operations in the southern Lebanon security zone. As The Zioneer has reported, previous incidents include the elimination of a Hezbollah cell on motorcycles near al-Aqida on July 5, an ambush on June 30, and other encounters. The Beit Yahoun area has been a focal point of activity.
The identities of the operatives and the exact timing of the strike have not been released. It remains unclear whether the threat was fully neutralized, though the IDF stated the operatives were killed “to remove a threat.”
