IDF soldiers opened fire on four Hezbollah terrorists who crossed into the Security Zone near the Ali al-Taher ridge on a bulldozer and a motorcycle, the military says. Warning fire was ignored; after the operatives continued to advance and pose an immediate threat, additional fire was aimed at them and hits were identified. The IDF noted the group was operating under civilian cover.
The IDF on Tuesday evening reported its fourth engagement of the day in the Ali al-Taher ridge sector, after soldiers opened fire on a Hezbollah cell crossing the Security Zone on a bulldozer and a motorcycle. The military said warning fire was ignored and that hits were identified after additional fire.
The day's earlier incidents began at 13:14 Jerusalem, when the IDF confirmed striking an armed cell near the ridge, describing it as an 'immediate threat' (as The Zioneer reported). By 14:28, the military reported a separate strike that killed 2-3 operatives, and at 16:11, a drone and small-arms fire killed two more operatives in a cell operating under civilian guise. The latest incident involved a similar tactic — operatives using civilian vehicles to approach the zone.
The Ali al-Taher ridge has been a flashpoint since the ceasefire, with Hezbollah claiming to have hit Israeli vehicles and repelled advances (The Zioneer, June 19-20). The IDF has maintained that it controls the ridge and that Hezbollah continues to test the boundary. No IDF casualties have been reported in any of today's engagements. Hezbollah has not yet commented on the latest incident.
