At 22:03 Jerusalem on Thursday, The Zioneer first reported the destruction of a tunnel network spanning over two kilometers, built over two decades with Iranian funding. Hours later, an Israeli security source confirmed the discovery of dozens of Hezbollah operatives' bodies in the tunnels. The IDF then released demolition footage and, subsequently, confirmed that nearly 50 operatives were killed after refusing to surrender, using 1,100 tons of explosives. That same evening, The Zioneer published IDF bodycam footage from inside the tunnels, and the IDF released footage of an elimination at a tunnel shaft. Today's release adds bodycam footage from a Yahalom unit soldier and drone footage from within the system, providing further visual evidence of the network's scale.
As The Zioneer reported in July, the IDF Chief of Staff stated that forces controlled the key terrain above and below ground at the ridge after Hezbollah constructed an extensive underground complex over two decades. The ridge, overlooking Nabatieh, has been a focal point of friction, with Hezbollah using FPV drones and civilian cover to challenge Israeli control, as documented in earlier reports.
The IDF has since withdrawn from the ridge, maintaining remote surveillance and fire control. It remains unclear whether any tunnel sections or Hezbollah operatives remain undetected in the area. The military has stated it will continue to monitor and prevent any re-emergence of threats.
