The first was a sniper from the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) in central Gaza, identified as Hammam Khamis 'Akasha Abu Barikh, who had been advancing sniper attacks against Israeli forces. The second was Muhammad Taysir Ahmad 'Abid, a department head in the Hamas operations staff in northern Gaza, who was involved in advancing terror plots against Israeli civilians and troops.
