Iran presents US deal as imposed victory, says Trump forced to accept terms

Primary source Internal intake · 4 reviewed intake signals · Desk window 02:00–02:20

TL;DR

Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters told Iranian citizens overnight that the deal with the United States is a victory imposed on Washington following 'military successes,' asserting the US had 'no choice but to accept defeat.' Iran's deputy foreign minister stated the 60-day negotiations are conditional on the US fulfilling commitments including ending the war, lifting the siege, and releasing Iranian assets. President Trump meanwhile celebrated what he called 'a historic agreement' that will bring peace to the region.

01 · THE DISPATCH

Iran's military-political establishment is framing the reported US-Iran memorandum of understanding as an imposed victory, according to statements published overnight. The Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, Iran's supreme unified military command, addressed Iranian citizens directly, asserting that under the Supreme Leader's command they proved to the US that 'there is no way other than accepting defeat.' Iran's deputy foreign minister added conditions for entering 60 days of negotiations: the US must first fulfill commitments to end the war, lift the siege, and release Iranian assets.

As The Zioneer reported minutes earlier (Mon 01:21 Jerusalem), Iran's negotiation team celebrated the reported deal and blamed Prime Minister Netanyahu for Trump's acceptance of terms. A separate statement from the Khatam al-Anbiya HQ was reported at 01:31.

President Trump, in remarks from the White House, called the agreement 'historic' and said it would bring peace and security to the entire region. 'Many presidents tried to make peace with Iran, and all failed before me,' he said. 'Regional leaders have found, for the first time, a president who can help them achieve real peace.'

The gap in framing between the two sides remains wide. Iran presents the deal as a capitulation by Washington, while Trump claims it as a diplomatic victory. The signing ceremony has not been scheduled.
