The Zioneer first reported the incident at 16:16 Jerusalem, based on a single unverified report of a vehicle attacked in central Khan Yunis, said to belong to the security detail of a humanitarian aid convoy. Within minutes, The Zioneer published a second report citing Gaza sources that said three people were killed in the strike, and a third report citing Palestinian sources that identified the vehicle as a jeep belonging to the security company Ramal al-Sahra, struck by an Israeli drone in the Mawasi area of southern Khan Yunis.
As The Zioneer reported on Jun 26, security analyst Yair Goldblatt had previously cited an Arab outlet identifying a struck vehicle as a Hamas jeep. The Zioneer has also reported on drone strikes in the Mawasi area, including a report on Jun 28.
