The Zioneer has published footage of the early moments of this morning's terror attack near the Palestinian village of Tell in Samaria, in which a Palestinian mob attacked Israeli hikers, snatched a weapon from a civilian security coordinator, and opened fire. The footage shows the confrontation, the weapon snatching, and the fatal shooting of security coordinator Binyahu Melat.
The attack began around 08:18 Jerusalem when dozens of Palestinians from Tell confronted a group of Israeli hikers near the village. According to reports, the mob snatched the weapon of the Havat Gilad security coordinator. One of the attackers opened fire, wounding several Israelis. The IDF responded and eliminated the terrorist at the scene, recovering the stolen weapon. The military confirmed the elimination at 11:15 Jerusalem.
Palestinian Authority health officials reported that four Palestinians were killed and four others wounded in the incident. The Zioneer reported earlier at 09:25 that MDA confirmed the death of security coordinator Binyahu Melat.
The IDF is conducting a multi-agency situation assessment led by the Central Command chief, with participation from Judea and Samaria Division forces, Israel Police, and Shin Bet.
