Just before 19:14 Thursday evening, a 17-year-old boy was killed and another 17-year-old wounded in a shooting on Ibn Rushd Street in Jaffa, according to Israeli police. The death was confirmed at Wolfson Medical Center. Police assess the background is criminal. This is the second fatal shooting in Jaffa in the same evening, and the third fatal incident in two days across central Israel.
At 19:14 Jerusalem, The Zioneer reported that a 16-year-old boy had been shot dead in Jaffa and a 17-year-old moderately wounded — initially identified as two motorcyclists, aged 15 and 17, with one in critical condition. Over the course of the hour, as corroboration from Magen David Adom and police solidified, the victim's age was confirmed at 16, and the second victim at 17. The new incident shares the same location, time window, and criminal suspicion, and is being treated as a separate attack.
As The Zioneer reported earlier Thursday, the killing of the 16-year-old occurred less than 24 hours after a 19-year-old woman was fatally shot in Ramla on Wednesday. Police have not announced arrests in either case. Earlier this week, on Monday, three people were lightly wounded in a separate Jaffa shooting that police also assessed as criminal, as The Zioneer reported.
It remains unclear whether the two Thursday evening shootings in Jaffa are linked, or whether any arrests have been made. No official statement from police on the second incident has been released beyond initial confirmation.
