According to journalist Daniel Amram, the main suspect in the murder of Beniahu Razi, Avior Sasson, has shaved his head and beard to change his appearance while still at large. Amram also reported that investigators are examining the possibility that the 17-year-old fugitive may be hiding in a safe house or has fled the country with a forged passport. The police previously released Sasson's photo in an unusual move, but the image is now outdated, according to the report.
On Thursday, journalist Daniel Amram reported that the main suspect in the Beniahu Razi murder, 17-year-old Avior Sasson, has shaved his head and beard to evade capture. According to Amram, the police photo released Wednesday is now outdated. Investigators are also examining the possibility that Sasson is hiding in a safe house or has left the country using a forged passport.
The manhunt for Sasson entered its 13th day on Thursday. On Wednesday at 17:53 Jerusalem, police issued an unusual public appeal for help locating the suspect, publishing his photo and description. Later that day, police confirmed that Sasson remains at large after two weeks, and exclusive footage published by Amram showed the suspects fleeing the scene. Also on Thursday, as The Zioneer reported, the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court extended the detention of two additional suspects in the case — a 16-year-old minor and an 18-year-old resident of Elad.
The murder of Beniahu Razi occurred on July 11 in the Nahlaot neighborhood of Jerusalem. According to police, Sasson was allegedly invited to the scene by the victim's ex-girlfriend, Agam Tzrafi, and was recorded fleeing. Most other suspects have been arrested.
Amram's report is based on his own checks and has not been independently confirmed. The current status of the manhunt remains unclear, and the possibility that the fugitive has left the country adds a new dimension to the investigation.
