The charges come as a follow-up to the same investigation that earlier Monday led to an indictment against the reservist for stealing an M16 rifle from an IDF base and selling it to a known criminal.
As The Zioneer reported earlier Monday (13:44 Jerusalem), the weapon theft probe also uncovered a drug distribution network supplying IDF bases, linked to the weapon buyer. The initial indictment named the weapon receiver as Adham ben Ahmed Saadia, and the investigation further revealed that the reservist's brother, an IDF major, sold his medical cannabis to one of the defendants. A separate indictment is expected against the brother.
