Following a stone-throwing attack on Israeli vehicles on Route Gilad in Samaria, a suspicious object was located at the scene and neutralized by bomb disposal experts. The IDF says it has not yet been conclusively determined whether the object was an explosive device; if so, it would mark a serious escalation.
Hours after Palestinian assailants threw stones at Israeli vehicles on Route Gilad in Samaria on Saturday evening, bomb disposal personnel located and neutralized a suspicious object at the scene via a controlled explosion. The IDF stated Sunday night that it has not yet been determined whether the object was an explosive device. If confirmed as an improvised explosive device (IED), the incident would mark a significant escalation in tactics on this route, which has seen repeated stone-throwing and, in at least one prior case this year, gunfire at Israeli vehicles. No IDF response beyond the bomb disposal operation has been reported as of this writing.
