01 · THE DISPATCH

Doron Spielman, a seasoned international communications expert, has been appointed as the international spokesperson for Israel's National Public Diplomacy Directorate, which is headed by Tzipi Hotovely. The appointment was reported Wednesday by Dafna Liel (N12).

Spielman served as the foreign press liaison within the IDF Spokesperson's Unit and later founded and led a strategic communications consultancy. He is the author of "When the Stones Speak" (Hebrew: "תנו לאבנים לדבר"), a New York Times bestseller highlighting the archaeological and historical ties of the Jewish people to Jerusalem and the Land of Israel. He holds an international relations and Middle Eastern studies degree from the University of Michigan and is a graduate of the Churchill Program for Political and Security Strategy.

This appointment follows the recent appointment of Noam Shapira as director of the National Public Diplomacy staff, as The Zioneer reported last week. Hotovely has been working to strengthen the directorate's international messaging capabilities amid ongoing multi-front conflicts.
