On Saturday at 07:59 Jerusalem time, forces initially arrested six suspects in the village of Tel, the home village of the terrorists who carried out Friday's deadly shooting attack. By Saturday evening, the Palestinian Prisoners' Club reported that 80 Palestinians had been arrested, with over 40 in Tel. The IDF later confirmed that more than 70 wanted suspects had been detained, including the terrorist responsible for the Friday attack. The operation expanded with the deployment of hundreds of Border Police fighters across the region, and the IDF reported that hundreds of additional individuals were questioned.
The sweeping counterterror operation was launched in response to the Friday shooting attack that killed two Israelis and wounded six others.
