ynet released footage Monday evening showing a grenade being thrown repeatedly at a Japnika branch until it explodes. The branch is described as being at the center of the criminal dispute that has targeted the restaurant chain in recent months. The release comes hours after earlier developments in the same case.
Earlier today at 12:10 Jerusalem, police announced the arrest of two suspects, aged 18 and 22 from Bat Yam, in connection with a fragmentation grenade attack on a Japnika branch in Kiryat Ono. Police said the two arrived masked on a motorcycle and that the motive was a criminal dispute. Shortly afterward, i24NEWS reported that prosecutors were preparing formal indictments against the two. No injuries were reported in that attack.
The Japnika chain has been the target of a series of attacks since July, including fragmentation grenade, arson, and gunfire incidents at branches in Afula, Hadera, Rosh Pina, Kiryat Ono, Herzliya, and other locations, as The Zioneer has reported. Police investigations into the criminal dispute remain ongoing.
The newly released footage provides visual documentation of the attack sequence, but authorities have not explicitly confirmed whether the individual seen in the video is among the suspects already in custody. Further legal proceedings and possible additional arrests are expected.
