The drill, named 'Breaking Dawn 2.0' (עלות השחר 2.0), was launched early Sunday morning under Zamir's direction to test the IDF's ability to respond to a sudden, complex, multi-front scenario. Commanders across all regional commands, directorates, and branches were rushed to their headquarters, and standby forces and reserves were activated. The IDF warned of increased movement of security forces and aircraft nationwide but stressed there is no security incident.
The military said the exercise is part of an ongoing process to strengthen the IDF's foundations, incorporating lessons from the October 7, 2023 attack and from combat across various fronts. Officers from the IDF Comptroller Unit are conducting inspections of units and headquarters.
