According to a report by the Saudi-owned channel Al-Hadath, an airstrike in the Dahieh district of Beirut has killed at least one person and wounded several others. The target and circumstances are not yet confirmed, and the IDF has not commented on the report.
A Saudi-owned outlet Al-Hadath reported at 14:16 Jerusalem time that at least one person was killed and several wounded in an airstrike in Beirut's Dahieh district, the latest in a series of strikes in the area. This follows reports from Lebanon's National News Agency at 13:50 Jerusalem of one killed and four wounded in an Israeli strike on Beirut, and a separate report earlier today from the same agency that a strike in Dahieh left two dead and 11 wounded (as The Zioneer reported). The IDF has not commented.
At 13:50 Jerusalem, as the story began, border communities were updated on dozens of Israeli sorties in the Beirut area, with the Home Front Command saying no changes to civilian instructions. By that same hour, an Israeli official had told Israel Hayom that the U.S. was informed of the strikes only after munitions were dropped, asserting Israel's right to self-defense. A separate IDF strike on a Hezbollah command post in Dahieh yesterday (Saturday) was confirmed and documented (The Zioneer, 14:01 Jerusalem).
Dahieh is a known Hezbollah stronghold in southern Beirut. The Zioneer previously reported an IDF strike on a Hezbollah command post there yesterday (14:01 Jerusalem), and an earlier bulletin noted that an Iranian source threatened a 'response' to a strike on a Hezbollah communications official in the district (14:09 Jerusalem).
The casualty count and target of the latest strike remain unverified by the IDF or independent sources. It is not yet clear whether this is a continuation of the sorties reported from 13:50 or a separate event.
