Following a fresh security assessment, the Home Front Command announced that from 6:00 a.m. Monday, all restrictions on the Confrontation Line will be lifted. Eight northern communities return to full activity; gathering limits of 100 outdoors and 400 indoors are removed.
The Home Front Command announced Sunday evening that all remaining civil-defense restrictions along the Confrontation Line (Kav Ha'Omek) will be lifted effective 06:00 Monday, June 22 Jerusalem time — earlier than initially reported. The move, which brings eight northern communities (Safsufa, Meron, Or HaGanuz, Bar Yochai, Yesud HaMa'ala, Kisra-Sumei, Beit Jann, Sde Eliezer) to full unrestricted activity, follows a fresh security assessment and appears to reflect the stabilization of the ceasefire with Hezbollah. This marks a departure from the original announcement earlier Sunday (Sun 21:20 Jerusalem) that the restrictions would be lifted “tonight”; the latest update confirms the 06:00 Monday timing, and specifies that gathering limits — 100 outdoors, 400 indoors — are fully removed.
The Zioneer first reported the planned restriction lift at Sun 21:20 Jerusalem, when the IDF announced the change would take effect Monday morning. That initial report listed eight communities but did not specify whether gathering limits would remain. A subsequent update at the same timestamp (version 3) clarified that the restrictions would be lifted “tonight.” The final version, published at the same time, restored the Monday 06:00 start time and confirmed the removal of all gathering caps. The decision comes after a series of Hezbollah ceasefire violations: on Fri Jun 19, the IDF launched heavy strikes in Lebanon following what it called “significant” violations, and overnight Sat Jun 20, Hezbollah fired over 50 rockets and mortars at IDF troops in southern Lebanon, as The Zioneer reported at Sat 15:13 Jerusalem. The IDF has maintained high readiness in the north throughout.
As The Zioneer reported on Sun 17:34 Jerusalem, Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, during a visit to the 401st Armored Brigade in southern Lebanon earlier Sunday, described the ceasefire as “fragile” and told commanders that renewed combat may be necessary. Israel has maintained freedom of action despite the fire halt; Prime Minister Netanyahu stated on Thu Jun 18 that the IDF would remain in southern Lebanon as long as security needs required, after 300 Hezbollah targets were struck in two days.
The Home Front Command urged the public to continue following official instructions and noted that any future changes to defensive guidelines will be announced through official channels. It remains unverified whether the ceasefire, which has been repeatedly tested, will hold long enough to keep these restrictions lifted.
