01 · THE DISPATCH

At 19:53, the IDF updated its earlier account of tonight's cross-border fire from Lebanon. In a fresh statement, the military confirmed that in addition to a rocket that struck near Neot Mordechai and several impacts recorded near troops in southern Lebanon, several suspicious aerial targets — believed to be Hezbollah drones — were identified falling inside Israeli territory near the border. No casualties have been reported in any of the incidents.

This update caps a rapid sequence of IDF confirmations tonight. At 18:31 Jerusalem, the desk first reported that the military had identified multiple suspicious aerial targets falling in Israeli territory near the Lebanese border, with no casualties and the incident under review. At 19:51, The Zioneer reported the IDF's confirmation of a rocket from Lebanon hitting near Neot Mordechai and near forces in southern Lebanon and of drones striking Israeli territory. One minute later (19:52), the IDF published a statement confirming a fall on Israeli soil and additional falls in southern Lebanon. The current update (19:53) adds the identification of additional aerial targets.

The ongoing fire comes amid the IDF's continued ground maneuvers in southern Lebanon, operations that Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi said are designed to deepen damage to Hezbollah, as The Zioneer reported at 16:18 Jerusalem. Earlier this month (June 8), the IDF reported a launch from Lebanon falling near forces in southern Lebanon, and on June 11, two launches from Lebanon fell near troops in southern Lebanon, activating alerts in the north.

It remains unclear whether any interception attempts were made during tonight's incidents or if the Home Front Command issued civil-defense directives. The IDF has not identified specific launch points in southern Lebanon nor indicated whether the drones were engaged before impact.
