01 · THE DISPATCH

The IDF announced Thursday evening that its forces eliminated six Hezbollah terrorists in two separate incidents in southern Lebanon. In the village of Zawtar al-Sharqiya, Golani Brigade troops spotted five Hezbollah operatives near their position. Separately, Commando Brigade forces identified an armed Hezbollah terrorist on the Ali al-Taher Ridge. In both cases, Israeli Air Force aircraft struck the targets while ground troops also opened fire, eliminating the threat, according to the military.

The IDF said it continues to operate on the Ali al-Taher Ridge, beneath which Hezbollah maintains a large underground tunnel complex. The military assessed that approximately 30 operatives remain inside the tunnels and stated it "will not allow Hezbollah terrorists to exit the underground tunnel network or operate in the area of the ridge." As The Zioneer reported earlier Thursday evening (21:28), the IDF had previously eliminated Hezbollah operatives threatening troops in the same area. Thursday night's operations mark the third such engagement at the ridge reported by the desk in the past hour.

Separately, Defense Minister Israel Katz responded to Iranian threats warning that if Israel does not leave Lebanon "today, tomorrow it will flee." Katz declared that if Tehran attacks Israel over its operations in Lebanon, "we will strike it with full force." He stated the IDF will remain indefinitely in security zones in Lebanon, Syria, and Gaza to protect Israeli communities, adding that "the lives of our fighters are a supreme value." Lebanese President Joseph Aoun simultaneously issued a statement asserting that no foreign power may negotiate on Lebanon's behalf.
