The IDF said it struck and killed five Hezbollah terrorists in Zawtar al-Sharqiya and one armed terrorist on the Ali al-Taher Ridge, all inside the Security Zone, after they posed a threat to soldiers. The military released footage of the strikes. This is the latest in a series of engagements at the strategic ridge, as the IDF says it will not allow operatives to exit the underground tunnel network.
The IDF announced that on Thursday evening, forces operating in the Security Zone in southern Lebanon identified two groups of Hezbollah operatives who posed a threat to troops.
In the first incident, soldiers in Zawtar al-Sharqiya identified five Hezbollah terrorists. In a separate incident, soldiers on the Ali al-Taher Ridge spotted an armed Hezbollah terrorist. The Israeli Air Force and ground forces fired to eliminate the threats; the IDF confirmed all six were killed.
This is the latest in a series of engagements at the Ali al-Taher Ridge. As The Zioneer has reported over the past two days, the IDF has killed at least a dozen operatives in the area, including four who crossed the Yellow Line on a bulldozer and motorcycle on Tuesday and two suspects in a vehicle on Wednesday. The military has stated it maintains control of the ridge and will not allow Hezbollah operatives to emerge from underground tunnel networks or operate in the area.
The IDF released footage of the strikes. No Israeli casualties were reported.
