The Israel Defense Forces announced Thursday that it eliminated two terrorists who infiltrated Israel during the October 7, 2023, massacre in airstrikes carried out Tuesday in Gaza City and Jabaliya. Muhammad Gamal Mahmoud Abu al-Shar, a Hamas cell commander, was killed in Gaza City; he participated in the Kibbutz Be'eri attack and the kidnapping of six Israeli civilians. Matsa'ab Abd al-Galil Sakhib Balbisi, an Islamic Jihad commander, was killed in Jabaliya. The IDF said both had recently advanced terror plots against Israeli forces and civilians in violation of the ceasefire.

Muhammad Gamal Mahmoud Abu al-Shar, a Hamas cell commander, was struck in Gaza City. According to the IDF, he participated in the Kibbutz Be'eri attack and was directly involved in the abduction of six Israeli civilians: Sharon Hertzman-Avigdori, Noam Avigdori, Adi Shoham, Nave Shoham, Yahal Shoham, and Shoshan Haran. The second target, Matsa'ab Abd al-Galil Sakhib Balbisi, an Islamic Jihad commander, was killed in a separate strike in Jabaliya. Both operatives had recently advanced terror plots against IDF troops and Israeli civilians, violating the terms of the ceasefire, the military said.
The eliminations continue the IDF's policy of pursuing every individual involved in the October 7 massacre. As The Zioneer has reported, more than 2,555 participants in the massacre have been confirmed killed as of late June 2026. The IDF has stated repeatedly that there is no statute of limitations on these operations.
