Yesh Atid MKs Uzai Chaim and Vladimir Beliak have asked the Attorney General to order a criminal investigation into Dvir Rubinshtein, director of the aviation security operations center at the Ministry of Transport, over an alleged conflict of interest, according to N12. A previous Zioneer report revealed Rubinshtein received payment from FlyDubai while overseeing the airline.
Yesh Atid MKs Uzai Chaim and Vladimir Beliak on Monday called on Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara to order a criminal investigation into Dvir Rubinshtein, director of the aviation security operations center at the Ministry of Transport, over an alleged conflict of interest, according to an N12 report at 12:31 Jerusalem time.
The request follows a series of The Zioneer publications on the matter. At 08:40 Monday, The Zioneer reported that Rubinshtein received payment from FlyDubai for training services while serving as the regulator overseeing the airline. An earlier dispatch at 08:27 revealed that Rubinshtein had advised foreign airlines he supervises, including FlyDubai, of his regulatory role. The MKs' letter to the Attorney General cites these reports as grounds for a probe.
The development adds a legal dimension to a growing controversy over aviation security oversight that emerged in the wake of the attempted hijacking of FlyDubai flight FZ 1073 last week, as The Zioneer has previously reported. Opposition leaders have been pressing the government over security failures, and the new revelations have intensified scrutiny of the Transport Ministry's supervision of foreign carriers.
The Attorney General's office has not yet publicly responded to the request for a criminal investigation.
