The attack, which occurred near the settlement of Havat Gilad, resulted in the elimination of four terrorists, according to a senior IDF official, who also announced a broad counterterrorism operation. The victims were identified as Maj. Yuval Ezra, 27, a battery commander in the Artillery Corps, and CWO (Res.) Binyahu Melat, a member of the Havat Gilad security squad. The funeral for Ezra is scheduled for Sunday, July 26, at 17:00 at the military cemetery in Beit Dagan. The family will sit shiva at 1 HaElon Street, Beit Dagan. The military operation announced by the IDF is ongoing, and further details on the security situation are expected to emerge.
