In a commemoration post on the Oct. 7 anniversary, The Zioneer Intelligence Desk released updated figures showing 1,318 members of Israel's security forces have fallen since the war began, with 7,150 Israelis recognized as bereaved relatives, including 2,143 parents, 355 widows, 880 orphans, and 3,772 siblings.
At 14:01 Jerusalem, the English-language account hnaftali published a commemoration post marking three years since October 7, reiterating the Defense Ministry's official toll: 1,318 members of Israel's security forces have fallen since the war began, and more than 7,150 Israelis have been recognized as bereaved relatives — including 2,143 parents, 355 widows, 880 orphans, and 3,772 siblings. The post closed with a blessing for the memory of the fallen.
The figures first appeared in a Defense Ministry release at 05:59 Jerusalem today (Sunday). As The Zioneer reported at 06:04 Jerusalem, the initial release showed 2,347 total fallen (including 63 children) and over 87,000 new terror victims recognized by the National Insurance Institute. At 06:42 Jerusalem we reported the ministry's breakdown of security force casualties, and at 09:17 Jerusalem we published the detailed bereaved-family breakdown now being recirculated.
The 1,318 fallen include IDF soldiers, police, Shin Bet, Prison Service, Fire and Rescue personnel, local security coordinators, and civilian rapid-response team members. The civilian death toll of 1,029 murdered on October 7 and afterward is tracked separately by the National Insurance Institute, which has recognized over 87,000 displaced and disabled victims since the war began, as The Zioneer documented earlier today.
The data released today does not update the death toll itself but provides the official three-year marker. The civilian victim count, covering physical and psychological trauma, continues to grow as more cases are formally recognized.
