The Shin Bet and police investigation has culminated in indictments against three Israeli citizens from Taibeh and Baqa al-Gharbiyye for aiding terrorist Omer Monder Yassin in his June 7 attack. Two suspects were aware of his intent and did not prevent the attack; one allegedly supplied the Carlo-type weapon used to kill Haim Kalomiti.
The Shin Bet and Israel Police announced this morning that a joint investigation has yielded indictments against three Israeli civilians who aided terrorist Omer Monder Yassin in the Sharon region multi-site attack on June 7. Yassin, from Taibeh, killed reserve Master Sergeant Haim Kalomiti, 55, a member of the local security response team, before being neutralized by police.
The three suspects are: two residents of Taibeh — one who allegedly supplied the Carlo-type weapon used in the attack, and another who knew of Yassin's intent to carry out the shooting — and one from Baqa al-Gharbiyye, also aware of the plan. All three were arraigned today.
As The Zioneer reported earlier at 08:02, indictments were filed following the initial police and Shin Bet disclosure that two Israelis provided assistance before the attack. The investigation has since expanded to include a third suspect, and the charges now reflect fuller allegations of material support and failure to prevent a terror attack. The case highlights the challenge of domestic terror cells operating within Israeli communities.
