Gaza sources report that five people were killed in a strike in Gaza City, with Bilal Oudeh—the young son of Muhammad Oudeh—identified as the only male fatality. Muhammad Oudeh replaced Izz al-Din al-Haddad, the Hamas military wing commander eliminated in May. Sources note uncertainty due to security conditions and loss of contact with senior Hamas operatives.
Gaza sources told Israeli media N12 on Saturday that five people were killed in a strike in Gaza City, among them Bilal Oudeh, the young son of Muhammad Oudeh. Muhammad Oudeh had taken over as the replacement for Izz al-Din al-Haddad, the Hamas military wing commander who was eliminated in May. The identification of Bilal Oudeh provides the only male fatality among the five reported dead in the strike, which was part of an overnight Israeli operation targeting Hamas strongman Ali al-Ammoudi, the de facto leader of the Gaza Strip.
The IDF launched the assassination attempt against al-Ammoudi earlier Saturday morning. At 11:10 Jerusalem, The Zioneer first reported that the IDF had targeted al-Ammoudi, the deputy head of Hamas's political bureau and successor to Yahya Sinwar. By 13:03, we reported that IDF attack helicopters and tanks conducted the operation. At 15:14, we reported that Hamas sources told Saudi newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat they doubted the assassination succeeded, and that five people were killed in the strike, with Bilal Oudeh identified among them.
The Zioneer has previously reported on the ongoing campaign to dismantle Hamas's command structure in Gaza, including the elimination of senior commanders such as Ahmad Batsh and Kamal Abu Mu'iliq in recent months. Muhammad Oudeh, Bilal's father, replaced Izz al-Din al-Haddad after the latter was eliminated in May.
The fate of Ali al-Ammoudi remains unconfirmed. Hamas sources cited by Asharq Al-Awsat expressed uncertainty, with one source suggesting al-Ammoudi may have survived, while another said it was too early to determine. Sources in Gaza noted that security conditions and a loss of contact with senior Hamas operatives, who are taking precautions as Israeli targeting continues, make confirmation difficult.
