Radwan Force

The Radwan Force is Hezbollah's elite special operations unit, specifically trained for cross-border incursions and the conquest of territory in Israel's Galilee region. As the primary offensive arm of the Iranian-backed terror group, it has been the focus of intense IDF operations aimed at dismantling its command structure and neutralizing its threat to northern Israeli communities.

The Radwan Force represents Hezbollah's most significant tactical threat to Israeli sovereignty. Named after the alias of Imad Mughniyeh, the unit's primary mission is the 'Conquest of the Galilee'—a strategic plan involving mass infiltration, the seizure of civilian communities, and the disruption of IDF mobilization. Unlike standard Hezbollah units, Radwan operatives are highly trained in small-unit tactics, mountain warfare, and advanced anti-tank operations.

Recent intelligence reveals the depth of the unit's integration into the broader 'Axis of Resistance.' Captured Hamas documents indicate that Yahya Sinwar's October 7 planning relied heavily on a simultaneous Radwan invasion from the north. While this full-scale assault did not materialize as Sinwar expected, the threat necessitated the evacuation of tens of thousands of Israeli civilians.

As of mid-2026, the Radwan Force has suffered catastrophic degradation. Systematic IDF strikes have eliminated its top-tier commanders and destroyed the vast majority of its pre-positioned infrastructure in southern Lebanon. Prime Minister Netanyahu recently confirmed that the IDF has dismantled the group's strategic capabilities, including the elimination of key Radwan leadership, fundamentally altering the security reality on the northern border.
