IDF eliminates Oct. 7 infiltrator Akram Abu Mazi in southern Gaza strike

The elimination of Akram Muhammad Mahmoud Abu Mazi marks another step in the IDF's systematic targeting of Hamas operatives who breached the Israeli border during the October 7 onslaught. According to the military, Abu Mazi remained an active threat, working in recent weeks to restore Hamas's military infrastructure and advance new attacks against Israeli troops and civilians. Separately, the Ministry of Defense confirmed the death of Raad Abu al-Qi'an, a civilian contractor from Hura. Abu al-Qi'an was killed today while operating heavy machinery during engineering and demolition work in the Gaza Strip when a structure collapsed on him. In southern Lebanon, an IDF soldier was moderately wounded in an operational accident and evacuated for medical treatment. Additionally, the IAF struck a vehicle carrying suspects that crossed into the Israeli security zone in the Ali al-Taher Ridge area, removing what the military described as an immediate threat.

In a joint operation between the IDF and the Shin Bet, security forces eliminated Mohamed Zayed in the Yamun area of Judea and Samaria. Zayed was a known arms dealer who supplied weapons for a 2025 shooting attack that severely wounded two IDF soldiers. He was killed while attempting to flee during an arrest operation.
