On Sunday, two days after the terror attack in Samaria that claimed his life, it was reported that Benyahu Malet, the Israeli activist killed while defending hikers near Havat Gilad, had warned about the Palestinian Authority (PA) approximately two weeks before his death. The Zioneer reported on Friday, July 24, at 10:22 Jerusalem that Malet, 32, a member of the Havat Gilad emergency response team and head of the community's agriculture, was shot by terrorists after he rushed to assist a group of hikers under attack in the area.
