The assault involved a complex ambush in which the terrorists seized a weapon. The military censor cleared Melat's name for publication at 10:22 Jerusalem, revealing he was a father of two daughters and head of agriculture. Earlier, at 09:25, MDA confirmed one fatality at the scene. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu eulogized the two at 17:05, praising their heroism in engaging the terrorists to protect civilians.
