The IDF announced the name of fallen soldier Staff Sgt. Liav Kavia, alongside previously named Staff Sgt. Yoav Klein, Lt. Col. Dor Gdalya Ben Shimron, and an additional soldier whose name has not yet been released — all killed in the same combat incident in southern Lebanon.
The IDF cleared for publication Saturday night the name of Staff Sgt. Liav Kavia, a soldier killed in combat in southern Lebanon. He fell in the same incident as Staff Sgt. Yoav Klein, Lt. Col. Dor Gdalya Ben Shimron — a battalion commander — and an additional fighter whose name remains withheld.
The announcement follows a series of high-casualty engagements in southern Lebanon. As The Zioneer reported earlier Saturday, five soldiers were confirmed killed and 13 wounded in two separate incidents near Tebnit and Nabatieh, one of which this latest naming relates to.
Yoav Klein, 21, an armor soldier in the 52nd Battalion (401st Armored Brigade), had been identified earlier in the evening; Nir Ben Ari, a Maglan commando, was killed in a separate southern Lebanon incident. The IDF continues to release names as next-of-kin notifications are completed, with one fighter still unidentified by name to the public per military protocol.
