A stabbing attack occurred this morning in the area of Usarin in Samaria. According to the IDF, a terrorist armed with a knife stabbed an Israeli civilian, Netanel Yaakov, and fled the scene. IDF soldiers launched a search and established roadblocks; they located the terrorist near his vehicle in the area of Idhna. When the terrorist attempted to stab the soldiers, an IDF commander from Battalion 411 opened fire and eliminated him.
The terrorist was identified by Abu Ali Express as Mohammed Fayez from the village of Kafr Qablan. The IDF statement did not name the assailant.
Yaakov, wounded in the head, neck, and hand, recounted the struggle from his hospital bed later on Monday. He described fighting off the attacker with punches and stated the knife broke during the struggle. His parents said his condition is good and stable.
The attack prompted Defense Minister Israel Katz to direct the IDF to prepare for a full-scale operation against Palestinian terror infrastructure in Judea and Samaria, as The Zioneer reported earlier today.
