Two soldiers from the same 52nd Battalion tank incident in southern Lebanon are being laid to rest on Sunday. Staff Sgt. Yoav Klein, 21, of the 52nd Battalion (401st Armored Brigade), fell in combat in southern Lebanon Saturday. His funeral begins at 11:00 at the Herzliya cemetery, preceded by a procession from 10:00 from 10 Beni Binyamin Street. The public has been invited to attend with Israeli flags.
Staff Sgt. Nave Habshoosh, 20, from Adam, fell in the same incident. His funeral takes place at 18:00 at Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. The IDF previously cleared both names for publication alongside two other soldiers who perished in the same engagement: Lt.-Col. Dor Gedalia Ben Simhon and Staff Sgt. Liav Kababia.
The four were killed in a single incident during ongoing high-intensity ground operations against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon. The tank crew deaths mark one of the worst single-incident losses for the IDF's armored corps in this campaign.
